We no longer offer discounted ticket for non drinkers as we had done it in the past. Last year we learned that it is against the law and makes us ineligible for insurance, which we are required to have.
As a fundraising event and in order to get a temporary liquor insurance and insurance, we are not able to sell the alcohol people drink at Ales for Trails. If we have one price for people who are drinking and a different price for people who are not drinking, the State of Montana and the insurance company consider that “selling alcohol.” Therefore, the State and the insurance companies require all event goers to purchase tickets for the same amount as everyone else, or it is considered selling alcohol.
We appreciate your support. As Ales for Trails is our main fundraiser, we truly appreciate the contributions everyone makes, whether they are drinking beer or not. We celebrate everyone who comes to the event to support the trail system.
