The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is seeking public input on short- and long-term solutions for the existing at-grade railroad crossing on 27th Street in downtown Billings.

The detailed feasibility study is considering, at minimum, traffic operational and engineering analysis, safety, railroad coordination, bicycle/pedestrian facilities, Americans With Disabilities Act needs, environmental issues, geometric considerations, right-of-way, utilities, stakeholder input, and impacts to adjacent buildings and businesses.

They held an open house earlier this week, but are inviting further comments from the public through their survey, and through their comment link, both of which will soon be made available on their public involvement page at https://mdt.mt.gov/pubinvolve/billings27thstreet/.
