Kristy isn’t new to Billings TrailNet. As the former Development and Marketing Manager, she has spent the past several years helping grow community support for trails through fundraising, outreach, events, and storytelling. From building stronger partnerships to connecting more people with our mission, Kristy has already played a huge role in advancing Billings TrailNet’s work.
Her passion for trails started long before joining our team. Growing up just steps away from the Cleveland Metroparks in Ohio, Kristy spent much of her childhood exploring parks and trails that shaped her appreciation for recreation, connection, and community. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong belief in the importance of accessible outdoor spaces.
Today, that passion continues here in Billings. Kristy serves on both the Safe Routes to School Committee and the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, where she works alongside community leaders to improve trail connectivity, transportation safety, and access to outdoor recreation throughout Billings.
“I am excited to take on the role of Executive Director to continue serving our community,” Kristy said. “My time as Development and Marketing Manager has deeply connected me to our mission, and I’m looking forward to continuing our work with community partners to expand our impact and create new opportunities.”
Billings TrailNet’s Board of Directors is equally excited for this next chapter.
“The Board of Directors is thrilled to promote Kristy to Executive Director,” said Board President Jim Nichols. “Kristy is not only an advocate for our mission, but has also shown strong leadership in her previous role. We are confident she will lead Billings TrailNet into this new chapter with innovative ideas and a passion for trails.”
As Executive Director, Kristy will oversee Billings TrailNet’s programs, partnerships, and strategic initiatives, including trail advocacy, community education, volunteer engagement, and efforts to expand and improve Billings’ trail system. One project she’s especially excited about? The upcoming Stagecoach Trail project.
Billings TrailNet remains committed to building a more connected community through trails, outdoor recreation, and safe, accessible pathways for all. Under Kristy’s leadership, everyone at BTN is excited to continue moving that vision forward, one trail at a time.
