Adventure Cycling encourages everyone to “Join thousands of others for Bike Travel Weekend during the weekend of June 2-4, 2017.“ Billings TrailNet is jumping on board and is planning a backpacking trip from Billings to Columbus June 3-4.
Led by Billings TrailNet board member Steve Hudak, our ride will start in Billings and will follow the curves of the Yellowstone River as we make our way to Itch-kep-pe campground in Columbus.
We will be traveling on a lightly used paved two lane highway with gently rolling hills, and great panoramas of the Beartooth Mountain range.
The ride itself will be roughly 50 miles each way. This is a great introductory ride into bicycle touring/travel for anyone who may be interested in dipping their toes into a new adventure.
