by Elyse Monat, Active Transportation Planner for the City of Billings

The Billings community submitted three applications to the Recreational Trails Program Grant from Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks. The applications include proposals for a double-vault toilet at Shiloh Conservation Area from the City of Billings, single track trails from Pedal United, and a trail at Joel’s Pond from Yellowstone River Parks Association. To provide comment on these projects, go to https://stateparks.mt.gov/news/publicNotices/rtp/pn_0005.html. The comment period is open until Saturday, March 9 at 5:00 p.m.

Also last year, Billings submitted three applications and was awarded one- for the Skyline Trail. We appreciate the funding RTP provides for trail projects around the state.
