The progress of a community relies on its citizens! Giving back directly impacts how, and how fast, Billings grows and improves. Giving Tuesday follows Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday with a different concept. During a time where Americans are heavily driven to be consumers, it can be easy to lose sight of the importance of giving back. This year, on November 28, Billings TrailNet hopes to raise $10,000 on Giving Tuesday and challenges the community to take part in this global day of giving. This can be a gift of time, money, resources, or simply a voice as an advocate for a charity or event.

Giving Tuesday is a great way to become more informed about the local charities and organizations that help make Billings a wonderful place to live! Since 2004, Billings TrailNet has donated $455,000 toward the development and maintenance of the Billings’ walking and biking trails. The organization relies on donations to fund this trail work; trails that are part of many people’s daily lives. When imagining how the Billings community could be better, imagine what could be accomplished if everyone gave back.

Instead of giving what is left over after the holiday season, Billings TrailNet encourages people to start the season out on the right foot and give first. For more information about Giving Tuesday, visit givingtuesday.org. To give to Billings TrailNet, visit billingstrailnet.org and follow the Giving Tuesday link at the top right corner of the page. Donors will receive a Billings TrailNet sticker as a gift to show their support and pride in giving. Ten thousand dollars raised on Giving Tuesday will position Billings TrailNet to begin its new trail project.
