Merrill Lynch has done an internal fundraiser to give 100 bikes to 100 kids in Yellowstone County to celebrate the company’s 100 years in business. Frank Witt, Merrill Lynch’s local office manager came up with the idea. It is entirely a local effort, benefitting local kids. Funds were raised by employees of the local Merrill Lynch and matched by Bank of America.
When asked about how came up with the idea, Frank replied, “we’re in the business of getting our clients to where they want to go financially, and we thought it would be great to commemorate our 100 year anniversary with bikes for kids to get them where they want to go.”
In January of this year Merrill Lynch celebrated one hundred years from the date that Charlie Merrill opened his doors to bring Wall Street to Main Street. “What better way to commemorate this event than to give away 100 bicycles to children in our community,” Frank added.
The youngsters receiving these bikes will get them next Tuesday, August 19 at the Yellowstone Boys and Girls Club.
