BikeNet has been asking what people like and what people want in terms of Billings trails and bikeways. At Ales and several other events, many people offered their comments by putting pins on a trails map – black pins for where a trail is needed; colored pins to mark a favorite segment of the trail system. Your feedback was welcome and will be recorded!

The Yellowstone County Planning Board also wants your input for the 2014 Billings Urban Area Long Range Transportation Plan. The Plan will help shape Billings’ transportation going forward including pedestrian and bicycle facilities. They have created an online interactive map survey to provide the public with an opportunity to make comments and see what others are saying. Check it out at: https://maps.kittelson.com/billingslrtp

A public meeting was held in mid-September to discuss transportation projects 2009 to present, existing deficiencies, and desires for the future. A second meeting is planned tentatively in December to request public input on project evaluation, funding and prioritization. BikeNet will keep you informed when details are confirmed.

If you are interested in taking an active role in trail planning, you might also consider attending the BikeNet Trails Committee meeting, October 29, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. in the Dehler Park Board Room.

See you on the trails!
