Thanks goes to Kristen and Scott Prinzing, Mike Garvey, Fred Bicha and BikeNet’s Nash Emrich, for making our inaugural bike/tree event a satisfying success, in spite of the rain! There was an amazing turnout for the event, and the participants imparted a positive vibe that seemed to drive the event.
In particular, one young teenager asked if black walnut paint came from
the walnut tree. In the crowd was an arts teacher who answered his question in great detail. This is what the ride was intended to be: connections of trees,people, community, and getting in some physical exercise via the fun alternative transportation option that only bicycles can offer.
