What’s the best way to celebrate National Bike to Work Day on May 15th? With free breakfast burritos of course! This Bike to Work Day, Billings TrailNet (formerly BikeNet) and
Lucky’s Market
are teaming up to offer people biking, walking, busing, or wheeling to work free breakfast burritos.

imgres-1Ready to get a free breakfast burrito? Simply arrive by active transportation to one of our two locations-6th Avenue North and North 30th Street or Lewis Avenue and Division Street-between the hours of 7:30 and 9 am on Friday May 15th for a breakfast treat!

The benefits of biking to work are numerous. You will arrive to work more alert and ready to work. Your workplace will have a decreased need for car parking. Not to mention the health benefits are enormous! Just by biking to work, you can burn an average of 540 calories per hour while bike commuting! (League of American Bicyclists).

6f85e605ba4419f3801cd40d9ce5cad4Biking is also good for the planet. According to the League of American Bicyclists, “If the average person biked to work or shopping once every two weeks instead of driving, we could prevent the pollution of close to one billion gallons of gasoline from entering the atmosphere every year.” That’s a lot of saved gas and money!

Ready to bike to work but need a few tips? The League of American bicyclists suggests the following to help you enjoy biking to work even more.

  • Always wear a helmet to protect your head in the event of a crash
  • Ride in the right-most lane that goes in the direction you are traveling
  • Obey all stop signs, traffic lights and lane markings
  • Look before you change lanes or signal a turn; indicate your intention, then act
  • Be visible and predictable at all times; use lights at night and signal turns
