JeffJeff Bollman, BikeNet’s president, is an avid marathoner.  Last August as Jeff was running in local race, he felt searing pain in his knee as he raced down 27th Street.  Despite the pain, he kept running as fast as he could, finished the race, and won his age group.  That was his last run.  An MRI revealed that he had torn cartilage on his femur and underwent microfracture surgery.  The surgery came a few weeks later and then six months of rehab in which running was prohibited.

Throughout the winter and spring Jeff took advantage of the elliptical machines and stationary bikes at BikeNet’s mutual beneficiary of the Heart & Sole Run, the YMCA, and is now training for his first race since his injury: The Heart & Sole Run.

Heart & Sole LogoBikeNet is grateful for the more than $32,000 in contributions the Heart & Sole Run has given toward the trail system. With that money, BikeNet has paid for the new restrooms and other amenities at Swords Rimrock Park.  Each year, our trail system improves with the generous donations from the Heart & Sole Run, making walking, biking and active living safer and more accessible for everyone.

Please sign up to participate in the Heart & Sole Run here, or if you would like to volunteer please sign up on their volunteer page here, and under Company/Organization, please type BikeNet.
