We had the chance to sit down with the newest addition to our board, Cody Dutton for some Q&A! Check out what he had to say below!
Tell us a little about yourself!
My name is Cody Dutton and I’m excited to be the newest member of the Board of Directors for Billings TrailNet! I went to high school here at Central and obtained my Finance degree from Seattle Pacific University. After working out in Seattle for a handful of years, I decided to come back to Billings to be closer to family and further from Seattle traffic. I am currently an Investment Portfolio Manager with First Interstate Wealth Management.
How long have you been in Billings?
I moved back in the fall of 2018.
Cat or Griz (or neither??)
I’m a Cowboy – Go Pokes!
Why did you decide to join the BTN board?
I’ve been involved with Billings TrailNet (BTN) in various ways since 2019. After leading a First Interstate Bank team in doing some trail work as part of our annual volunteer day last September, Kristi and I met and discussed Billings TrailNet, the Board, and the ongoing work that BTN does. Believing in the vision of Billings TrailNet and being an avid user of trails, I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it.
What’s your favorite trail in Billings?
I’m partial to the Rimrock Road Trail considering that’s where I’ve put in the most mileage. Although, the Skyline Trail is becoming a favorite of mine as well.
Do you have any other favorite trails? (This can be anywhere!)
Hard to beat any trail that ends with food or a beer.
How do you most use the trails (walk dogs, bike, run, etc.)
It ebbs and flows. My preference is running but I have progressively put in more cycle miles over the years.
What do you like to do for fun?
Outside of trails, I enjoy playing and coaching soccer, playing music, camping and hiking, reading, and letting food expire in my fridge.
Anything else you would like to share or like our readers to know?
I don’t eat the food once it’s expired (most of the time).
