We are excited to introduce our Tales on Trails summer book club! Every second Saturday, we will meet at the location of our monthly cleanup at 8 AM (the parking lot across from the water tower on MT-3, along the Skyline Trail). We will then cleanup for an hour, before heading to Black Dog at Harper & Madison (on 10th) for book discussion.
If you are only interested or able to meet for coffee & discussion, feel free to meet us at Black Dog around 9:30 AM. For those that would like to walk & talk, feel free to meet up at the cleanup location and then continue on the Skyline Trail to get your steps in!
Summer Reading List:
May 9 Trail of the Lost-Andrea Lankford
June 13 Grandma Gatewood’s Walk-Ben Montgomery
July 11 On the Hippie Trail-Rick Steves
August 8 (We’re off preparing for Ales for Trails!)
September 12 Wild-Cheryl Strayed
For books, we will always encourage to:
- Get your library card through BPL to check out books!
- Use the Libby App with your library card (audio books are great for the trails)
- Purchase your books secondhand either locally or online from outlets such as Better World Books or ThriftBooks
- Borrow books from folks you know, or swap books with other people in the book club!
- Buy new from local bookstores such as This House of Books
In the event of inclement weather (rain, wind, extreme heat), please head to Black Dog for discussion. For cleanups, please make sure you are filling out the waiver in advance, as well as wearing proper attire (closed-toed shoes, etc.). Cleaning supplies such as bags, buckets, pickers, and gloves will be provided. To register for the event, please click on the link on each date. For questions, please email us at hello@billingstrailnet.org.
