The poker rides have been going with a bang this season as Get Outside Montana has listed us in their passport.  Kids young and old have joined the fun hour-long ride as cyclists start at Rose Park Pool and pedal around West Billings a few miles in a rather large group.  One Monday night, we actually had over 50 cyclists!  More than half of those riders were kids.  We have had kids on training wheels, on their own bikes, in trailers, or on trail-a-bikes.  Everyone wears a helmet, brings water, and just has a blast.

The poker ride consists of stopping at various points along the ride and everyone gets a card.  At the end of the ride, the person with the best hand wins one of two $15 dollar gift certificates from the Spoke Shop.  By riding with us, participants in Get Outside Montana get their passport book signed which gets them closer to winning a great package from the Spoke Shop: 3 – 4 new bikes for their family (a value of $1,500).

A fun competition is held during the ride to test peoples’ cycling ability.  This makes it fun for kids and parents alike.

Poker rides will continue until school starts, towards the end of August.  Come join us at Rose Park Pool every Monday night and be ready to roll out at 7 pm sharp for this one hour ride.
