Last year, the federal government allotted $8 million to each state to build on or off-road trail facilities such as sidewalks, bicycle infrastructure, bike/ped signals, traffic calming, lighting, and ADA projects. It is up to the discretion of state’s department of transportation for how it will allocate the funds.
