We are proud to announce that Lucky’s Farmer’s Market as Billings TrailNet’s newest corporate member. Since their grand opening in spring 2014, Lucky’s has supported the trails and active transportation through their generous donation of $5,000 toward the Lewis Avenue bike lane markings; hosted breakfast for Bike to Work Day in both 2014 and 2015; catered last year’s VIP event at Ales for Trails; and hosted a barbecue fundraiser for Billings TrailNet this past June.

Lucky’s Store Marketing Manager, Anne Costilla, says that it’s part of the corporation’s culture to promote a healthy outdoor lifestyle. As the corporate headquarters are based in bike-friendly Boulder, Colo., the entire corporation values the outdoors and active transportation. “We’d like to make it more commonplace to have an active, healthy community. Our national campaigns promote being outside and being healthy, and we’d like to do that here while keeping the notion that Billings is young and growing” Anne explains.

Anne_CostillaAnne herself is committed to being outside and being active. As a life-long Montanan, she believes that Montana is too beautiful to miss. “There’s plenty to do without even leaving town,” she explains. “You just have to get outside.” One day, she and her husband took the afternoon off and went to explore Four Dances together. She also loves Two Moon Park.

In the long term, Anne’s vision for Billings is for the city to appreciate and utilize Billings’ unique natural surroundings, including the beautiful scenery, parks, and trails along the riverbank. She would love for Billings to work harder on building an identity that’s based more on family and activities like using the trails.

Anne says she has always enjoyed driving down Lewis Avenue, and is even more drawn to that area now that it is bike-friendly. “It seems like an ideal neighborhood to live in… with the big, mature trees, and the old houses with porches… people decorate for the holidays so nicely,” she explains. “It’s like a neighborhood from a movie,” she adds. The icing on the cake: the new bike lane leads bicyclists safely to Lucky’s!

Anne’s life and passion exemplifies the sentiment of the entire Lucky’s Market corporation. Thank you Lucky’s for your generous support! We are proud to call you a partner and are excited to work with you in the future!
