This April, the Billings Chamber of Commerce is hosting more than 350 representatives from tourism and convention industries ranging from Montana and region for the 2014 Montana Tourism Conference. They will be providing guests with a walking tour of Swords-Rimrock Park, and will highlight partnerships (including BikeNet’s) involved in creating and maintaining Billings trail system, interpretive plans, and the importance of these amenities to the local tourism industry.
John Brewer, Executive Director of the Billings Chamber of Commerce, explains: “the Chamber has been a strong advocate for trails for many years. In addition to the quality of life benefits we enjoy from a connected trail system, trails impact our economy and workforce. More and more young families, professionals and businesses are first choosing a destinations with trails and community amenities to live even before they find a job. Trails also impact tourism, tourism spending and the length of a stay by a visitor in a community.”
BikeNet applauds the Chamber of Commerce for being a leader in their industry, for recognizing the importance of a healthy, active community in promoting a vibrant economy.
